MUSEUM CONCEPT/IDENTITY (STUDENT PROJECT)
concept • naming • identity • digital • print • merchandise
The idea for Sága – a new folklore museum based in Inverness – was inspired by visits to Scotland and a love for mythology, monsters and storytelling.
The result was a contemporary museum identity that would bring the past into the present and celebrate Scotland’s mythology and culture of storytelling. A physical museum is supported by an app and waypoints for an oral history project that collects stories and focuses on telling of old tales for new audiences.
The visual identity is inspired by pulp novels and old horror movies with an amped-up colour palette drawn from Scotland’s wild landscape and a museum logo handcrafted from cut-up paper strips.
